📄️ Share Configuration
Fusion File Share allows a few shares to be configured at the same time, each with different per share settings. Below are the possible configurations you can apply to a share.
📄️ Netname
Netname specifies the share name that is visible in the list of shares. This is used while accessing this share from the client. A share name has the following characteristics:
📄️ Remark
Remark specifies a human-readable comment describing this share that can be shown in client applications.
📄️ Path
Path is the absolute path in the local file system that becomes the share’s root directory.
📄️ Share Permissions
An authorization policy such as an access control list that describes what actions users that connect to this share are allowed to perform on the shared resource. Apart from the file system’s own permissions, you can control access on a per share basis by specifying one of the following configuration options:
📄️ Windows File Attributes
These options control how Fusion File Share stores SMB file attributes.
📄️ Windows Access Control Lists
These options control how Fusion File Share stores Windows Access Control Lists (ACLs).
📄️ Hiding Shares
This option controls whether this share is visible to in the list of available shares. If the option is set to ‘true’ it excludes this share from the list of available shares.
📄️ Encryption
It is possible to override the global encryption configuration with the ‘encrypt_data’ setting in the share configuration plane.
📄️ Continuous Availability
A boolean which indicates whether the share is continuously available. A CA share is capable of returning persistent handles to SMB client.
📄️ Veto Files
You may use a set of patterns as a filter to allow or deny accessing and listing files.
📄️ Volume Shadow Copy (VSS)
This option enables Volume Shadow Copy (VSS) feature on the share.
📄️ Audit Levels
You may use this option to configure the level of audit for a share.
📄️ Quota
To configure a share with quota-support an administrator should do:
📄️ Access Based Enumeration
This option controls whether to allow or prevent users from seeing the existence of a file or directory for which they do not have read permissions, when enumerating or listing the contents of a directory.
📄️ Administrative Share
If enabled, sets a share as an administrative share. Administrative shares are special hidden network shares like as C$, D$, etc and usually in Windows it represents a disk volume available on the host server.
📄️ Case Sensitivity
If enabled, turns on case insensitive operations on shares.
📄️ Scoped Share
When the option is specified, the share is only available for clients that access it though the transport associated with this server name. If there is no transport with such server name, then there will be no way to see the share until you get another transport that refers to this name.
📄️ Filtering Share Access by Network Address
It is possible to limit access to SMB share based on client’s IP address.
📄️ Named Streams
This option controls whether to allow or prevent users from accessing alternate data streams of a file or directory.
