Share Management via Windows MMC

Setting up an Administrative Share in Fusion

To manage shares via MMC, configure an administrative share in Fusion as follows:

[share]
netname = C$
remark = Administrative Share
path = /mnt/disk
administrative = true
[/share]

Here, ‘C$’ administrative share is configured with root path ‘/mnt/disk’. Therefore, this restricts MMC to create new shares and share only subdirectories under this root path.

Please refer to section 6.16 Administrative Share for more information.

Here, we have used ‘C:’ as drive root directory in share path since in section ‘Setting up an Administrative Share in Fusion’ we configured an administrative share with ‘netname = C$’ and ‘path = /mnt/disk’. Therefore, the complete folder path will be ‘/mnt/disk/share_2’.
