Configure round-robin DNS

Round-robin DNS resolution of the cluster name to individual node IP addresses (which should either be static or DHCP reservations) provide load-balancing across the cluster. Confirm Round Robin Support is enabled

  • Open the DNS Manager snap-in tool
  • Right click on DNS server and go to properties
  • On the Advanced tab, verify that round robin is checked as pictured below:

Add DNS entries corresponding to the server_name parameter in /<path_to_shared_storage>/tsmb.conf for each node’s IP address provisioned in section Add UPN to computer object in Active Directory.

Set TTL on each record to zero so that every lookup yields a new address (be sure ‘Advanced’ is selected under ‘View’ in the top menu):
